MRC Epidemiology UnitInformation for GoActive study participants
Between September 2016 and January 2017, 2878 13-14 year olds were recruited to the GoActive study across 16 schools in Essex and Cambridgeshire. Following the baseline measurements, the schools were randomised to either be an intervention school and receive the GoActive programme, or to the control condition where they would carry on as normal.
All schools completed 4 measurement phases which have included students wearing objectively measured physical activity devices, having anthropometric measures taken including height, weight and waist circumference, and completing questionnaires assessing friendship groups and other psychosocial factors.
