Current work and interests

Vasileios Kaimakis oversees the Unit’s BioRepository and core laboratory teams. He is responsible for organising and delivering large scale arraying projects, including biomarker measurements on the Fenland and EPIC-Norfolk studies.

Background and experience

Vasileios studied agriculture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and has an MSc in Environmental Pollution Science from Brunel University.

Vasileios has experience in SNP genotyping, DNA Extraction using the Tecan-Promega platform, and qPCR and Biomarker measurements (ELISA) using the MesoScale Discovery platform. He is experienced in programming and operating liquid handling robots such as the Hamilton Vantage.
