Dietary Assessment, Nutrition Measurement Platform
Current work and interests
Suzanna joined the Unit in July 2020 as a Research Assistant in the Nutrition Measurement Platform. Her work involves supporting development of the online dietary assessment tool (Intake24) and helping with maintenance of food composition databases. This work supports projects including the UK National Diet and Nutrition Survey (NDNS) and South Asia Biobank study (SAB).
Suzanna is interested in contributing to nutrition research that can help improve population health. She has a particular interest in the diets of ethnic groups in the UK.
Background and experience
Suzanna is a UK Registered Nutritionist (Association for Nutrition, Public Health speciality) and has a BSc in Nutrition and a Masters by Research (MRes) in Diabetes. She started her career working on the NDNS at the Medical Research Council (MRC) Elsie Widdowson Laboratory (formerly known as MRC Human Nutrition Research), first as a Dietary Assessment Assistant and then as a Data Analyst. Prior to joining the Unit, Suzanna was working on certification of nutrition claims on food and drink products and school menus.
