Current work and interests
Solomon’s current research is focused on evaluating the association between plant-based diets and chronic diseases, and environmental sustainability.
Background and experience
Solomon joined the Nutritional Epidemiology Department in October 2021 as an MRC Postdoctoral Fellow after earning a PhD in Epidemiology from Heidelberg University, Germany. His doctoral research was conducted at the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ), Heidelberg, Germany, and in collaboration with scientists from the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), Heidelberg, where he was a Visiting Pre-doctoral Fellow.
His doctoral research investigated the effect of calorie-restriction induced weight loss on the gut microbiome composition and metabolism.
Prior to his PhD, Solomon studied Biochemistry (BSc) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, and Public Health Nutrition (MSc) at the University of Chester, UK.
