Current work and interests
Sarah is currently a Research Associate working on the SALIENT project. Her work aims to synthesise the findings from the multiple, mixed-methods evaluations being conducted as part of SALIENT and derive lessons from the combined body of evidence.
Background and experience
Sarah is a Registered Nutritionist (Public Health). Between 2013 and 2023, Sarah worked as a Research Fellow at the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Centre, University of Southampton, supporting the activities of several large observational and intervention studies. From 2018 to 2023, Sarah worked on the EACH-B Study, a NIHR-funded RCT containing a multi-component, school-based intervention aiming to motivate and support adolescents to eat better and be more physically active. During this time, Sarah also completed her part-time PhD. Sarah’s PhD research aimed to understand how adolescents use and interact with food environments. This project combined Ecological Momentary Assessment, GPS, and focus group data to provide insights into adolescents’ independent food purchases and the environments in which these purchases occurred.
