Behavioural Epidemiology and Interventions in Young People
Current work and interests
Rizka was a PhD Student supervised by Dr Esther van Sluijs and Dr Tolullah Oni. Her research interests include behavioral epidemiology, urban health, and active travel. Her PhD research focused on adolescents’ active school travel behaviour, particularly how built, social, and meteorological environment are associated with adolescents’ active school travel in Asia.
Rizka was funded by Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education, Ministry of Finance, the Republic of Indonesia.
Background and experience
Rizka obtained her bachelor’s degree in public health from University of Indonesia, Indonesia, and her master’s degree from the University of Tokyo, Japan. Her master thesis was on behavioural nutrition with title food-choice motives of adolescents in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Prior to joining the unit, Rizka was a junior lecturer at Faculty of Public Health, University of Indonesia. In addition to teaching, she was also involved in various projects and studies, among them were vaccine coverage surveys and air pollution impact on mortality study.
