Current work and interests
Pricilla joined the Unit in June 2023 as a Research Study Assistant working on the Fenland Study. She works as part of a multi-disciplinary team collecting Physical Activity, Anthropometric, Clinical and Body Composition measurements for the Fenland Study. Pricilla is interested in contributing to cardiometabolic research that can produce useful public health messages.
Background and experience
Pricilla holds a BSc and Masters in Nutrition with a specialization in gerontology, and a Doctorate in Public Health. During her PhD, she was awarded a scholarship to participate in the Young Talents’ Attraction Brazilian program, Science Without Borders. This provided the opportunity to be a visiting researcher at the MRC Epidemiology Unit, University of Cambridge. In this opportunity, Pricilla was involved in a project investigating the compositional association between physical behaviours and cardiometabolic biomarkers.
Prior to joining the Unit, Pricilla was working as a university lecturer, teaching theoretical and practical disciplines in clinical nutrition, and as a Research Assistant in the ELSA-Brasil.
