Current work and interests
Paul is a Senior Communications Manager in the Unit’s Communications Team, which is led by Oliver Francis. His responsibilities cover internal and external communication, as well as leading the Unit’s public partnerships programme.
Background and experience
Paul holds a BSc in Biochemistry from University College Dublin and completed a PhD in Molecular Endocrinology at the University of Cambridge Department of Medicine, which focused on the role of PPAR gamma in obesity and diabetes. From 2001 until 2010 Paul was a Scientific Database Curator with the European Nucleotide Archive and UniProt Knowledgebase at the European Bioinformatics Institute.
Before joining the Unit Paul was the International Medical and Scientific Research Officer at the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation, and coordinated the international survey to update the Atlas of Multiple Sclerosis in 2013.
