Current work and interests
Pamela is an architect and was the Project Coordinator of GDARSpaces, supporting the day-to-day operational management of the project in close partnership with local counterparts at collaborating institutions in Africa, South Asia, South America and the Caribbean
Background and experience
Since January 2018, Pamela has been a consultant at UN-Habitat, particularly on how to Integrate health in Urban and Territorial Planning (UTP). Her main tasks involve program management; development of technical materials (e.g. urban tools, trainings, guidelines); technical advisory and capacity building to different stakeholders including local and national governments.
She has supported Bolivia, Argentina, and Mexico in developing their National/Subnational Urban Policies, and their social inclusion strategy. She also worked in the Global Public Space Programme at UN-Habitat on citywide public spaces assessment and strategies for different cities in Latin America in partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank.
Moreover, she is part of the UK Design Council Expert Network. And, before UN-Habitat, worked at the Public Space Authority of Mexico City in the design team, and at the Municipal Institute of Planning in Chihuahua, Mexico.
She undertook her undergraduate studies at University of Technology of Monterrey, Mexico, where she was awarded a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.).
