Work and interests
Nick undertook a joint placement between CEDAR and Transport for London (TfL) until July 2018. He worked with Jenna Panter in the Physical Activity and Public Health programme and Lucy Saunders from Greater London Authority/TfL to evaluate the impact of TfL infrastructure on travel and physical activity using routine data.
Background and experience
Nick Bundle entered the UK public health training scheme after working in the international water, sanitation and hygiene sector for WaterAid. Much of his public health work to date has been focused on the impact of the built environment on health, including developing a joint work programme with planners in Medway council to influence the obesogenic environment, investigating associations between neighbourhood walkability and walking behaviour in East London at LSHTM and developing national public health guidance on indoor overheating at Public Health England (PHE). He recently completed a two year fellowship with PHE’s Field Epidemiology Training Programme, undertaking research projects in both infectious disease and environmental epidemiology.
