Current work and interests
Max joined the MRC Epidemiology Unit in March 2023 as part of the Sample Management Team. He worked across various research facilities within the MRC Epidemiology Unit, assisting with sample processing, testing and storage, as well as collaborating with other groups within the unit to provide support in ongoing research projects, such as The Fenland Study. Max’s primary research interests are in the genetic mechanisms underlying cardiovascular diseases (particularly cardiomyopathies) and inherited metabolic disorders, such as diabetes.
Max left the Unit in September 2023
Background and experience
Max graduated from the University of Bath in 2021 with a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences before undertaking an MSc in Genomic Medicine at Imperial College London, graduating in 2022. During his postgraduate studies, Max undertook a research project at the NHLI looking at the transcriptional variability of endothelial cells in ischaemic cardiomyopathy hearts.
