Work and interests
Laura O’Connor (née Keyes) was a Career Development Fellow working as part of the Nutritional Epidemiology programme who completed her fellowship in December 2015. Her current research interests include dietary intakes and risk of type 2 diabetes and weight gain.
Background and experience
Laura completed her undergraduate degree in nutritional sciences (BSc) at University College Cork. Upon completion she joined the Irish National Nutrition Surveillance team, as a research assistant and worked on the National Adult Nutrition Survey and the National Pre-School Nutrition Survey, carried out by the Irish Universities Nutrition Alliance (http://www.iuna.net/). While there she completed her PhD in the area of dietary energy density and dietary quality.
