Karen joined the MRC Epidemiology Unit in March 2007 as a Finance Assistant part qualified with AAT qualifications. This role was to help manage the units budgets, help set up new systems and support the iproc procurement system. She continued in this role until October 2012 when she returned after maternity leave to the part-time role as Library Assistant. Karen’s role has been to develop a process, system and database with the Units publications to help comply with open access policies. The number of open access papers now published in the unit is continuing to increase making the Unit’s work available to everyone. Karen left the Unit in June 2016.
