Current work and interests
Holly Harris is interested in the development of eating behaviours and dietary intake across the life course. Her work primarily examines the interaction between individual differences in appetitive traits and the social and physical food environment. Her research while at the Unit focused on nutrition-related behaviours of adolescents as they transition into early adulthood in the DEBEAT project.
Dr Harris has a passion for science communication and promoting positive eating attitudes in youth to prevent disordered eating behaviours.
Background and experience
Dr Harris completed a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutrition and Dietetics) and her PhD at the Queensland University of Technology.
She has held various research positions at institutions around the globe, including the UK (University College London, University of Leeds) and the USA (Pennsylvania State University). Most recently, she completed a Horizon 2020-Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND Programme Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Erasmus Medical Center in the Netherlands.
