Work and interests

Fateen joined the Unit in January 2018 as a Research Assistant with the Laboratory Team, supporting the high-throughput automated DNA extraction, biomarker measurements, and samples genotyping for the EPIC-Norfolk, Fenland, and NSHD studies, and later analysing the telomere length of the Fenland 1 and Fenland 2 samples. She left the Unit in 2019.

Background and experience

She gained an Master’s degree in Molecular Medicine from the National University of Malaysia Medical Molecular Biology Institute (UMBI), Malaysia, in 2016. Her previous research project focused on small molecular RNA (microRNA) roles in modulating the metastasis process in serious ovarian cancer subtypes. She gained her Bachelors Degree in Biology (major in genetics) from the National University of Malaysia.
