Physical Activity Epidemiology
Current work and interests
Elsa is a PhD student supervised by Dr Katrien Wijndaele and Dr Soren Brage. Her PhD project focuses on characterising regularity patterns of activity exposures, and on evaluating the association between regularity of physical activity and the incidence of Non-Communicable Diseases.
Background and experience
Elsa has a background in Pharmacy from the Lebanese American University and holds a Master of Public Health from Imperial College London (ICL). After graduating, she worked as a data analyst as part of the May Measurement Month campaign at ICL in collaboration with the International Society of Hypertension and as part of the Oxford Global Burden of Disease at the Big Data Institute at the University of Oxford. Prior to joining the unit, Elsa was a research associate at the Global Health Institute at the American University of Beirut, where she conducted an epidemiological study as part of the NIHR PrOTeCT Group.
