Current work and interests
Carlotta was an Intervention Facilitator for the SWiM feasibility study, looking at the effectiveness of an online intervention which supports people in maintaining their weight after completing a weight loss programme. In her role she acted as a “SWiM Coach”, providing telephone support and guidance to the participants throughout the intervention. Carlotta left the Unit in Spring 2022.
Background and experience
Originally from Italy, Carlotta moved to Aberdeen, Scotland in 2015, where she completed her MA in Psychology and MSc in Health Psychology at the University of Aberdeen, and she plans to start her Stage 2 qualification as a health psychologist soon. She also works with NHS Dumfries and Galloway as a health and wellbeing facilitator, providing support to individuals in changing behaviours and making healthier choices, as well as contributing to initiatives within the community aimed at reducing health inequalities.
