Dietary Assessment, Nutrition Measurement Platform
Current work and interests
Caireen works as a senior nutritionist in the Dietary Assessment team in the Nutrition Measurement Platform. She oversees the diet-related aspects of the UK National Diet and Nutrition Survey (NDNS), and provides support for planning, set-up and operational management. She is responsible for delivery of the NDNS published tables and reports, and is responsible for dietary data delivery on several large studies including the 2021 Scottish Health Survey and the NDNS follow up study – Diet and Physical Activity during COVID-19. She leads on the evaluation following the introduction of Intake24 into NDNS in 2020.
Caireen joined the Nutrition Measurement Platform in January 2019. Prior to this she worked on the NDNS at NatCen Social Research and the MRC Elsie Widdowson Laboratory.
Background and experience
Caireen has an MSc in nutrition and is a registered nutritionist (Public Health). She has been working in nutrition, food and health research for over 16 years including two years as a lecturer in nutrition at the University of Hertfordshire.
