Current work and interests
Alexandra worked on a NIHR Public Health Research programme-funded project investigating the impact of local authority takeaway outlet exclusion zones around schools on the numbers of planning applications received for takeaways, other food and non-food outlets. Alexandra left the Unit in April 2022.
Background and experience
Alexandra is a Registered Associate Nutritionist who is primarily interested in the impact of poverty and social policies on food insecurity and health status across the UK. Alexandra’s previous research experience includes the analysis of large secondary data sets to explore the impact of COVID-19 on food security inequalities across the UK, which she undertook at King’s College London funded by the Food Foundation.
