Dr R.M. Anjana, is the Managing Director of Dr Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre and President of the Madras Diabetes Research Foundation. Her main research areas are prevention of diabetes, epidemiology, physical activity and translational research and metagenomics.

She is a part of the national ICMR-INDIAB Study and international studies like PURE, NIHR, UKRI-MRC, CARRS etc. She has published over 340 papers in prestigious national and international peer reviewed journals. She is a prolific speaker and has given numerous lectures in several national and international conferences on diabetes, non-communicable diseases and cardiovascular epidemiology.

Dr Anjana’s work has led to making public health and policy recommendations for which she has been recognized with several prestigious national and international awards. In 2020, she has been selected as the member of the ‘WHF Salim Yusuf Emerging Leaders Programme’. She is a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the ICMR-National Centre for Disease Informatics and Research. In 2023, she has been appointed as an Adjunct Faculty in the Dept. of Medical Science and Technology, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. She is a part of the Expert Committee for development of NCD protocols for the Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres (HWC).
