Cambridge is steeped in history, from the ancient settlements upon Wandlebury Hill to the renowned Colleges of the University of Cambridge. The University is one of the oldest in the world and has an international reputation in academic and research excellence. In recent times, it has been referred to as the ‘city of cycling’ as a large proportion of residents choose their bicycles as their main mode of transport. There are of course plenty of other ways to get around, by bus, by taxi, by foot, and even by punt! The city is buzzing with life most days but you can always seem to find a tranquil place to read, reflect or rest. It’s an enchanting city you’re bound to fall in love with.
