Work and interests
Kai Schulze was a PhD student in the Food systems and public health programme within Dietary Public Health and was supervised by Martin White. Kai completed his PhD and left the Unit in 2018.
Kai is interested in the relationship between highly processed foods and cardiometabolic health outcomes and the political, economic, and social determinants that foster and inhibit the consumption of those foods at the individual and population-level.
Background and experience
Kai has a background in Sociology, Political Sciences and Economics. He holds a BA in Social Sciences from Humboldt-University Berlin and an MPhil in Public Health from the University of Cambridge. Prior to joining CEDAR, he has worked as a research assistant at the Berlin Social Science Center and at LSE Health at the London School of Economics and Political Sciences.
