Work and interests

As the Biomarker Specialist with the Laboratory Team, Chris worked with the MSD Sector Imager 6000 to perform the analysis (with ECLIA) of various biomarkers in support of the Units research.

Chris left the Unit in May 2017.

Background and experience

Chris graduated in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge in 2010 with Part II Neuroscience. Before coming to the MRC Epidemiology Unit he worked in the Central Laboratory of Simbec Research Ltd., a Clinical Research Organisation based in Merthyr Tydfil specialising in Phase I and IIa clinical trials. While there he worked on both routine clinical pathology analysis and ‘developed’ and commercial assays for pharmacokinetic/dynamic bioanalysis. He has experience in the use and installation of automated analysers, LIMS administration and working to GLP, GCP and CPA guidelines.
