Work and interests
Bridget was a Senior Research Associate in the Nutritional Epidemiology Programme, led by Professor Nita Forouhi, and worked in close collaboration with the NIHR Cambridge BRC Dietary Assessment Platform.
Bridget joined the Unit in June 2019 and was responsible for setting up and leading the development, customisation, evaluation, and field implementation of an existing digital 24hr recall dietary assessment system – Intake24 – for use in populations in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka (The South Asia Biobank Study). The study, led by Imperial College London, was set up to understand the determinants of the disproportionate burden of non-communicable diseases in South Asians. She left the Unit in 2020.
Background and experience
Bridget has a PhD in Nutrition from King’s College London, and is a registered nutritionist (Public Health specialty). She has held senior R&D positions in academic and corporate environments, and has over 20 years of experience in dietary assessment and analysis in global research settings.
