Current work and interests
Erika’s current research and interests focuses on examining patterns (e.g., active travel, sports participation) and intensity of physical activity in children and youth, and health status and behaviours of school staff. She left the Unit in May 2022
Background and experience
Erika is multidisciplinary health scientists with an interest in physical activity, active travel, built environment and sport science. She completed a PhD at Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand, assessing associations between children’s school travel behaviour and multiple environmental attributes. Her research also focused on the child-centred approach using public participation geographic information systems (GIS) to empower and engage children and to give voice to children.
