Current work and interests
Sarah Meadows is the Lead Analyst and Laboratory Manager for the chromatography and mass spectrometry section of the Nutritional Biomarker Laboratory (NBL).
Her role in the NBL with include overseeing the analysis of samples for both NDNS and other studies, for internal and external collaborators, for a range of vitamins along with developing assays for other nutritional biomarkers to help further understand human nutrition.
Background and experience
Sarah is a registered Biomedical Scientist and spent her first twelve years of employment in NHS clinical chemistry laboratories working on both routine and specialist analysis of various clinical biomarkers to aid the diagnosis and monitoring of disease. In 2013 she moved to the MRC Elsie Widdowson Laboratory to set up the mass spectrometry section of the nutritional biomarker analysis laboratory with the primary purpose of analysing samples for the UK National Diet and Nutrition Survey (NDNS), specifically for 25-hydroxyvitamin D and folate.
