Work and interests
Katherine was a post-doctoral Research Associate within the Food systems and public health programme led by Martin White. Katherine left the Unit in August 2018.
She is currently working on the Dietary Public Health Research and the Food Industry project – which seeks to gain international consensus on a framework, principles and guidance for appropriate engagement between researchers and the food industry.
Background and experience
Katherine brings a diverse background to her research. She is a qualified dietitian and has worked in a range of settings including with Aboriginal communities, schools, in health promotion capacity building, tobacco control and as a national policy officer. Katherine is particularly interested in the power of different interest groups and the strategies they use to gain influence over nutrition policy in various countries.
