Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, all public authorities designated under the Act are obliged to adopt and maintain a publication scheme. The aim of the publication scheme is to set out:
- the classes of information they publish or intend to publish as a matter of course
- how the information is, or is intended to be, published
- whether the material is, or is intended to be, made available to the public free of charge or on payment
The purpose of the publication scheme is to ensure that a large amount of information is readily available to members of the public, ie without the need for specific consideration under the FoI Act, and to inform the public of the extent of material that is available.
The Medical Research Council (MRC) Epidemiology Unit is part of the University of Cambridge. The University of Cambridge Freedom of Information page provides provides further details on the Publication Scheme, their responsibilities, and your rights under the Act.
Enquirers under the Act can make written requests concerning the MRC Epidemiology Unit directly to the Unit at the contact details below, or to the University of Cambridge.
